Potatoes
Potatoes are a major vegetable in Koraput district. In Koraput, a large number of farmers use organic methods to cultivate it. Under the Koraput district, large potato cultivation has been undertaken in Nandapur villages, Koraput Villages, Kotpad villages, etc. Every year a large amount of potatoes are grown and marketed with the support of JSFPC.
Ginger
Ginger is a common spice in India, known for its medicinal use and good impact on the human body. Gingers are largely Cultivated in Koraput, Nandapur, Lamtaput, Dasmanthpur, etc. Ginger is used to cut down fermentation, constipation, and other causes of internal problems. Ginger contains Antioxidants, and in repairing damaged cells, ginger contains over 400 natural compounds. So they are used in the treatment of common cold and Throat Problems.
Koraput Coffee
Koraput Coffee is known for its rich taste and freshness. It is an Arabica-washed coffee that is grown semi-wild in the shade of trees. The coffee is generally grown in plantations in Koraput, which is known for its natural beauty. It is medium-roasted to bring out its bright acidity and highlight its unique flavor. In addition to being a refreshing beverage, Koraput Coffee is beneficial to health as it contains antioxidants that help in Parkinson's disease and strengthen DNA. Moderate consumption of this high-quality coffee can be good for overall health. Koraput coffee is organically grown which is healthy and beneficial.
Solar panel for farms
Modern farming practices involve the use of solar instruments to save farmers' time and energy. JSFPC provides farmers with solar panels for use in agriculture. Different solar instruments such as solar pump sets, solar inverters, solar traps, and solar lights are given to farmers. Many farmers in Koraput Villages, Nandapur Villages, Kotpad Villages, Lamtaput, Malkangiri, and Borigumma Villages are already using these solar instruments and benefiting from them.
Rice
Rice is the main cereal crop grown by many farmers in Koraput District. JSFPC trains farmers to cultivate rice sustainably using two methods: Line Transplantation (LT) and System of Rice Intensification (SRI). Farmers are encouraged to use different varieties of rice such as Black Rice, Basabhoga Rice, Kala Jeera Rice, and Brown Rice. These varieties of rice are excellent sources of protein, iron, and antioxidants that boost eye and heart health, protect against certain diseases, and aid in weight loss.
Millets
Millet is a group of cereal grains widely consumed in India, Nigeria, and other Asian and African countries. It is a protein-rich grain that contains essential amino acids for protein synthesis. Millets are rich in nutrition, antioxidants, magnesium, and phosphorus and are gluten-free. They provide multiple health benefits, including controlling blood sugar and maintaining cholesterol levels. Different types of millet, such as finger millet, foxtail millet, little millet, browntop millet, and kodo millet, are grown in large numbers in the Koraput District without the use of chemicals. These millets are organic and healthy, making them a great addition to any diet.

Through our Seeds for Farmers initiative, we provide a wide range of high-quality seed varieties to small-scale farmers, empowering them to cultivate diverse crops that are resilient to climate change and pests. A different variety of seeds are provided in the Koraput district to farmers like vegetable seeds, legume seeds, pulses seeds, & etc.
